The University has a great need for on going capital support. Although we receive some government funding for capital projects, most of our expanding facilities are financed by borrowings or gifts.
Major gifts are sought to raise funds for capital works projects across all Campuses. According to the donor’s capacity, gifts of varying amounts are made, either as a single gift or pledged over several years. For capital gifts, there are opportunities for naming rights.
Current or planned Capital Projects which carry naming rights are:
Institute for Health and Rehabilitation Research – Fremantle Campus
School of Medicine - Sydney Campus, Darlinghurst
School of Medicine Library – Sydney Campus, Darlinghurst
School of Nursing facilities – Sydney Campus, Darlinghurst
Major classroom extensions to the Sydney Campus, Broadway
New classroom block – Fremantle Campus
Centre for Indigenous Studies – Broome Campus
In addition, the University enables donors to be associated with particular facilities by naming them e.g. individual laboratories, lecture theatres, meeting rooms, classrooms, student recreational and social spaces, halls of residence. Examples of this are the Galvin Medical Library in Fremantle; the Swartz Anatomy Laboratory in Sydney.
