Scholarships and Prizes

Scholarships

Scholarships, which offset tuition and/or assist in their related educational expenses, are an effective way of encouraging excellence in students and providing financial aid to those in need. By making a gift to fund scholarships, donors are also helping to ensure access to an education at Notre Dame.

Term scholarships can be established for a set amount and time (minimum of $5,000 for 3 years) or be established in perpetuity, whereby a capital sum is endowed and the interest awarded each year. Endowed named scholarships require a minimum investment of $150,000.

The University currently holds the following endowed scholarships on its Fremantle Campus:

  • Sacred Heart Parish Scholarship (School of Education)
  • The Bernie and Mary Prindiville Family Scholarship (School of Education)
  • The Dianne Wansborough Scholarship (School of Nursing)
  • The Galvin Family Scholarship (School of Business)
  • The Justin John Honner Scholarship (School of Nursing)
  • The Oblate Fathers’ Scholarship for Mazenod College Graduates
  • The Prendiville Scholarship for Aquinas College Graduates
  • The Willeton Parish Scholarship (School of Arts and Sciences)
  • Woss Family Scholarships (School of Medicine)
  • The MADAL Scholarship (School of Medicine)

Prizes

Student prizes are awards which recognise a student’s achievements. As with scholarships, prizes can be established for a set amount and time (minimum of $500 for 3 years) or be established in perpetuity. Endowed named prizes require a minimum investment of $20,000.

Scholarships and prizes encourage, recognise and reward the most outstanding students who are expected to make valuable contributions to the University and to our society. They are very prestigious, with the details being added to the recipient’s official transcript.
